Research & Copyright Disclaimer

1. Educational and Instructional Mission

This website is a personal, independent platform dedicated to Egyptological research, Amarna history, and historical art analysis. All original articles, deep-dive research monographs, and analytical schematics published here are intended for public and scholarly historical education, critical research, and instructional purposes.

2. Fair Use Notice & Transformative Content

This website and its downloadable research materials may contain copyrighted works—specifically historical photographic records and archival imagery—the use of which has not always been explicitly authorized by the copyright owner.

In accordance with Title 17 U.S.C. Section 107 of the United States Copyright Act, such materials are reproduced and analyzed under the provisions of Transformative Fair Use. Third-party archival visual materials (such as the John G. Ross photographic record of Ostracon #90, held by the Griffith Institute, Oxford) are utilized exclusively within the interior of downloadable research PDFs and instructional visual and digital formats to facilitate:

  1. Comparative Analysis: The photograph/image is used strictly as an immutable, undisturbed, and unaltered capture of an artisans drawing or artistic rendering.
  2. Use in this transformative work is vital as a research and educational tool for a general and academic audience.
  3. Material will be used for direct comparative visual analysis, original schematic overlays and thematic annotations, peer-accessible academic  critique, challenges, and conclusions.

These images are structurally integrated into the scholarly research and visual analysis, serve no decorative or promotional purpose, are excluded from all website promotion and paper cover layouts, and are legally required in their entirety to maintain the integrity of the historical critique.

We believe this constitutes a protected, transformative fair use of the material that does not impair, substitute for, or interfere with the contemporary commercial licensing market value of the original archival photographs.

3. Fee Structure and Cost-Recovery Disclosure

While the short journal articles on this platform are distributed entirely free of charge, in-depth research monographs may be offered as digital downloads for a nominal fee. This fee is implemented on a cost-recovery basis to offset research, overhead, web hosting, and document layout production, and does not alter the educational character of the scholarship.

4. Original Content Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise noted, all original analytical writing, diagrams, visual overlays, and schematics are the intellectual property of Vikki Davies, HistoryIgnored.net, © 2026.

  • Permitted Use: Scholars, students, and independent researchers are welcome and encouraged to cite, reference, or download these PDFs for personal research and academic study, provided appropriate bibliographic attribution is given.
  • Prohibited Use: Commercial mirroring, unauthorized distribution, or re-selling of these original research files without express written permission is strictly prohibited.

5. Takedown Requests & Contact

If you are a copyright owner or a registered legal agent who believes that any material hosted on this site infringes upon your rights outside the scope of Transformative Fair Use, please contact the author directly at research@HistoryIgnored.net. We welcome respectful scholarly communication and will promptly address your inquiry in good faith.
